Top 3 Reasons QuickBooks and Xero Reject Bank CSVs
Avoid manual re-uploads by checking these common formatting pitfalls before uploading to your bank feed:
QuickBooks expects date formats to strictly align with your company preference (either YYYY-MM-DD or MM/DD/YYYY). Ensure leading zeros (e.g. 01/05/2026 not 1/5/2026) are preserved.
In single-amount column layouts, expenses MUST be negative. If expenses are positive, QuickBooks will register every credit card charge as income and double your taxable revenue.
Including dollar signs ($1,420.50) or thousand separators triggers parser syntax errors. Strip all non-numeric characters so the field reads cleanly as 1420.50.
